The Wrigley Business Collaborative (WBC) is a coalition of local business and property owners working to strengthen, revitalize, and advocate for the Wrigley commercial corridors. Centered along Pacific Avenue and Willow Street, the WBC was formed to create a cleaner, safer, and more economically competitive district that supports both businesses and the surrounding community.
Our mission is simple: bring businesses together to invest in the long-term success of Wrigley.
For decades, Wrigley has served as one of Long Beach’s most historic and community-oriented neighborhoods. Its commercial corridors are home to legacy restaurants, family-owned businesses, neighborhood services, industrial employers, entrepreneurs, and emerging small businesses that collectively shape the identity of the area. Yet like many urban business corridors, Wrigley faces challenges that individual businesses cannot solve alone, including corridor maintenance, beautification, public safety concerns, vacancy reduction, marketing, and coordinated economic development.
The WBC exists to address those challenges through collaboration, advocacy, and organized investment.

Building Toward a Stronger Business District
The Wrigley Business Collaborative is currently organizing the formation of a Business Improvement District (BID) for the Wrigley area. A BID allows businesses and property owners within a defined district to collectively fund services and improvements that directly benefit the corridor.
These services can include:
Corridor beautification and maintenance
Marketing and promotional campaigns
Community events and activations
Graffiti and litter mitigation
Business attraction and retention efforts
Public safety coordination
Streetscape improvements
Economic development advocacy
Rather than relying solely on outside investment or citywide priorities, a PBIA gives local stakeholders a direct role in shaping the future of their district.
About the Wrigley Business Collaborative

Rooted in Wrigley
The WBC is built by the businesses, organizations, and residents who already invest their time, resources, and energy into Wrigley every day. Our leadership includes longtime business owners, community advocates, and neighborhood stakeholders who care deeply about the future of the corridor and recognize the value of organized collaboration.
From local events and corridor activations to advocacy and economic development initiatives, the WBC is focused on creating visible, measurable improvements that strengthen the neighborhood while supporting the small businesses that serve as its backbone.
We believe Wrigley deserves the same coordinated investment, attention, and long-term planning seen in successful business districts throughout Long Beach.
Why Now
Wrigley is at an important moment.
As Long Beach continues to grow and evolve, corridors that organize early and invest collectively will be best positioned to attract customers, support entrepreneurs, improve quality of life, and compete for future economic opportunity. The WBC was created to ensure Wrigley is part of that future.
The momentum already exists:
new businesses are opening,
community events are expanding,
neighborhood pride is growing,
and local stakeholders are stepping forward to invest in the district’s future.
The WBC is working to turn that momentum into long-term infrastructure for economic growth and corridor improvement.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Wrigley Business Collaborative?
The Wrigley Business Collaborative is working to become Long Beach's tenth and newest Business Improvement District (BID).
A BID is a geographically bound area where local businesses and property owners elect to pay a small additional assessment to directly fund improvements and services such as event activation, cleaning, private security, marketing, and beautification.
How much will this cost my business?
The Wrigley Business Collaborative has been dedicated to uplifting our small businesses from the beginning, focused on affordability and impact rather than maximizing a budget. There are four assessment levels based on the business' license type, but the maximum cost is capped at only $31/month.
What does a BID do?
BIDs are a public-private partnership, operating as a non-profit, to provide supplemental services that go above and beyond what the City can offer. The Wrigley Business Collaborative will enhance economic development, connect business owners with capital and funding opportunities, advocate on behalf of businesses, and most importantly attract customers.
For example, the City of Long Beach is coordinating Olympics watch parties with the existing BIDs, offering grants for security upgrades to combat retail theft, and preparing local businesses for the influx of visitors resulting from the new amphitheater. By establishing the Wrigley Business Collaborative, Wrigley businesses will have first-in-line, exclusive access to all of this.
Who runs the BID? Can I be involved?
The Wrigley Business Collaborative is operated by a volunteer executive board made up of local business owners ranging from bar owners to architects to personal trainers. We are always looking for more volunteers and board members so if you would like to be involved, please contact a representative to discuss.
This sounds great - how do I sign up?
Petitions have been mailed to all business owners. If you can not find your petition, join us at one of our upcoming events to receive a new one or send us an email and someone will reach out to coordinate delivery.
Our Steering Committee
The Wrigley Business Collaborative's board will not be formalized until the City ratifies it as the newest BID. However, this effort is currently being led by a collection of small business owners and volunteers dubbed our "Steering Committee."
